Englishmen have worn tweed since Victorian times. On the great estates, the earl and his workers both wore tweed to keep off the weather.

The Earl jacket carries that heritage in its collar. It is cut from 100% wool Yorkshire tweed with a natural mill wash finish, which gives it a soft, springy handle. The body is chocolate heavyweight moleskin. The Earl is built for the shoot, the country walk and a cold city evening.

The buttons sit behind a hidden ‘placket’, so the front looks clean when the jacket is done up. It’s a detail borrowed from British overcoats which used a fly front to keep the line uninterrupted and to stop wind finding its way through the button holes. We’ve carried the idea further with curved stitching down the front that traces the sweep a lapel on a suit makes when it folds back.

Under the collar you’ll find Wini Fred embroidery, this is the only visible branding on the jacket and you can decide whether or not you want to show it off.
