The story

Phacelia is inspired by wildflower strips you see in England’s arable fields. Planted as food for pollinators and birds, in the Spring these wildflowers explode into colour.

One plant though is the most vibrant, phacelia. The neckline in the phacelia knit is a vibrant lilac ‘strip’. Contrasting with the brown of a freshly tilled field. Down the centre we have a tractor’s ‘tramline’ rib detailing.

Details

Made from merino lambswool which is super soft, durable and hardwearing. Polyester feels nice the first time you wear it. But quickly degrades in softness. Merino feels good every time you put it on, as it’s around 3x finer than a human hair.

Our wool is spun in Denby Dale (at a mill that has been running since 1766), which is just a stone’s throw from the WINI FRED office in Yorkshire. The wool is knitted in Nottingham before the pieces are linked together by hand.

The knit features a classic round neck collar and ribbed hems and cuffs.
