The story
Most lions don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep, apart from the WINI FRED lion. The heraldic knit is a thick jumper that will keep you warm throughout the winter.
We looked into history for this piece, to a time when lions were a common part of English lore, flags and insignia. Rather than having three lions on your shirt this winter, make sure you have one lion on your jumper.
Details
Made from merino lambswool which is super soft, durable and hardwearing. Polyester feels nice the first time you wear it. But quickly degrades in softness. Merino feels good every time you put it on, as it’s around 3x finer than a human hair.
Our wool is spun in Denby Dale (at a mill that has been running since 1766), which is just a stone’s throw from the WINI FRED office in Yorkshire. The wool is knitted in Nottingham before the pieces are linked together by hand.
The lion is knitted into the chest and the jumper features a classic round neck collar and ribbed hems and cuffs.
